It's a bumper.
Again, it's a bumper. It is black. ( Paint finish is good). It is shorter (top to bottom) than the stock bumper. Might be good, might not. It does allow free space between the tailgate and the bumper top gaining free access to "Spare" crank hole above the bumper.
Considering the price, it should afford some added protection to the rear.
The edges are not rolled (like the stock unit). If it gets pushed into the body, it is going to do damage, not just dent. It is a bit narrow as well, so the ends are inside of the ends of the rear fenders. again, if hit it is going to get the body.
Parts are sealed along the edges with "RTV", I guess to try and keep water out of the seams.
This and the brackets went on easily and seem to fit as expected.

I PUCHASED THIS SENSOR FOR MY HONDA. WHEN IT ARRIVED I TESTED IT FOR THE TESTED OHMS "10 TO 40 OHMS. IT READ 4.7. CS AT PARTSTRAIN DOESN'T SEEM TO UNDERSTAND THAT THEIR CATALOG IS INCORRECT FOR HONDA. THE ACCOMPANING INSTALLATION SHEET STATED THAT THIS SENSOR IS NOT FOR HONDA AND MY TEST READ AT 4.7 OHMS WHICH IS THE TEST RANGE FOR INFINITI,CHEVY,SATURN,TOYOTA ETC. THE MANUFACTURER OF THE SENSOR CAUTIONS THE USER /INSTALLOR "NOT FOR HONDA SERIES" IMPEDANCE OF THE LOAD AND THE ECU IT IS CONNECTED TO HAS TO BE IN RANGE FOR IT TO WORK OR IT WILL BURN OUT JUST LIKE STERIO EQUIPMENT. tHE SENOR I PUCGASED IS GOOD NOT DEFECTIVE . IT IS JUST INCORRECTLY ADVERTISED AS A HONDA ITEM. I HOPE CS ADDRESS THIS ISSUE"
