Where I live has emissions testing. They wont test with a check engine light on. When I checked the code it gave a "Cat Performing below Threshold " code. Priced stock converters and all were between $800 and $900. The stock design is designed in a way where welding a universal would be extremely difficult.
Found this one for $325 after shipping. Showed up in two days. All pipes were bent correctly and it went together trouble free except the rear mount flange. The mount flange that connects to the rear exhaust section had spring bolt holes that were too small to allow the spring bolt lip to go through. Had to drill slightly larger holes in order to fit the stock spring bolts.
After install I cleared the codes and the code never came back. Works great. Did change the sound of the vehicle slightly but barely noticeable. All parts except spring bolts and one donut gasket included. Had no problem reusing both parts. The bung hole for the O2 sensor was the correct position and thread. Well worth the value so far. Hope it lasts longer then the stock one did."
