• Park your car in a garage.

Using a wire brush will also make it easy to remove any buildups. And you can rinse the battery with water and dry all the posts with rags. If the battery is discharged, use a battery charger until the open-circuit voltage is 12.6 volts. Do not go the quick-charge way as the high current from this method can warp the plates on the battery. If you want a cheaper option, you can charge your Isuzu Ascender's battery by using a solar charger. There are inexpensive solar chargers that you can buy and use for a long time. It's a good investment. Just make sure to monitor the charging so as not to overcharge the battery.

• Keep your battery secured.

Make sure that your car's battery is properly installed and secured. You don't want it to be jiggling around in the engine bay while you are driving.
