Customer Reviews

My door locks would not unlock or lock most of the time. I replaced the drivers side and now both sides are working. I've heard that there is a resistor inside that gets weak. Make sure you watch u-tube video's and take a lot of pictures.

I have a 2000 Ford Excursion. This vehicle is notorious for having unreliable lock actuators. Ford dealerships charge around $375 to replace one (1) lock actuator. Now that I have learned how to replace an actuator, which takes less than an hour per door, I am paying around $25 to replace an actuator. I first ordered two (2) actuators with the 5-year guarantee. Later, I was told that it is the same actuator as the one with the 1-year guarantee. So, the next time I ordered a replacement actuator, I ordered one with a 1-year guarantee and saved about $15. It is not worth paying the extra money for the longer guarantee, since you are receiving the same actuator as the one with the shorter guarantee.

Purchased the door actuator to replace the driver side front door of my 2003 Ford F-350 Super Duty Crew cab. With the use of a service manual I had purchased when I bought the truck new I replaced the part in one hour in my garage, took a 15 in break too. The actuator was a perfect looked OE all the way. I have electric looks, DA, power windows and marrows. Pop off the controls, unplug the connectors and remove two screws, one under the control panel and one behind the red reflector on the door. Pull up on the door panel and there you are. Slide the old one out and slide the new one in, not as easy as having a beer but not that hard. The manual helps and a little commonsense will go a long way.
